just playing around with a character, its pretty generic and not very good i think, i like the ink that i did on two of them with a thick outline and thinner inner details, but i don't think i captured his emotions and character well enough, although smoking seems to make people cooler...maybe?

ah fung, a man of many things...probably things i don't want to know, but he's a great guy to talk to about old movies and old stuff period ( he hates to think he's old, but really..he has grey hairs showing) all joking aside, he's the one who first called me salad guy, i've heard many different ways of misspelling my name and saying it, but somehow salad guy stuck.

i've recently been bitten by one of those flesh-brain eating creatures...and needless to say...you become one of them...ever waiting for that new update on your wall, or comment on your photo and you feel that everyone you used to know and haven't spoken to in many a year should be a friend.

some recent pencil-ness, the top one that says for brockkers is for brock, i'll be adding his blog link to my links soon, people should take a look at his work, when i first met the guy he couldn't draw very well and every since that day he's been nose to the ground working hard to get better, and he's got the stuff to prove he's somewhere now, also his student film is just about done now,so i'll be looking forward to his final results!

new-er work

As some people might have noticed last wednesday brad goodchild( director for class of the titans) put up my fan-ish art for titans ( see post below) so i wanted to thank him, i'm still waiting for dave's version of himself, you can see nicole's on brad's blog, oddly enough she does look like theresa from titans.

anyway above is a rough herry i drew, doesn't really match the show's style at all ,oh well..fun times

the other picture is for a project i'm doing with someone from the states, its not really a huge thing but i wanted to do some work and get some practice, i won't say any details for now but it does have to do with snowboarding and mountain style ( i.e whistler-like place)

zombies and titans

My co-workers Nicole and David suggest the 3 of us do drawings of ourselves in COTT style! so the non-zombie drawing is the version that i did of myself, of course i'm not that buff ( i'd like to be) but overall i think i got my own feel down pretty good.

Hey

its been a while since i posted something up, last post didn't count much since it was older work.
I've been busy getting better at animating in flash, so most of my free time after work goes to that, plus i've been looking for extra work besides mercury to get me doing something and hopefully bring in some extra coin.
Last week on friday was a good chance for me to have a bit of drawing fun with friends and co-workers from mercury, i'm not usually into drawing with other people much except close friends but in this case it was pretty fun, so i'm hoping to do it on a weekly friday basis.

anyway sorry for some of the poor scans, i spilled some coffee on my pad while i was drawing, so hence the brown stain on one of the scans, it made it all crinkled and junk. and i also ran out of unused paper and had to resort to re-drawing on top of crappy life drawings.

these are about 2 weeks old? i haven't drawn much last week.

early work

So this time around i thought i'd show everyone some of the crap i used to do back in the good ole days, the top drawing i did with pencil and watercolor back when i was in grade 10 or so, its a character from a skateboard company, world industries.
the picture of the funny looking kid is me, see i was just as weird back then as i'am now, what can i say? i make a horrible picture, that was from '96 when i was in soccer with other ugly kids.
and lastly i drew and painted dragon ball z characters, come on people, everyone liked it back then, the mindless powering up for over 1o ep. and the horrible, horrible dub with cheesy voice acting, anyway hardest part of that painting was probably the skin and hair color, mainly because i remember running out mid-way, thank god for photoshop nowadays. that was when i was in gr.10 or 11, just before i moved to vancouver from calgary.

R.I.P calgary.....with your crappy weather, shitty hangouts, bad malls, red neck hicks, and terrible stampede.

So some of this stuff is from work, besides the first drawing the rest are from work, what is with cronus and his nipples? like wtf??!! you need a day and night color for someone's nipples??! are you kidding me? but that's my day at work...nipples and inking them, Oh don't forget that i had a really bright shirt on today, probably soaked up too much radioactive crap from my shitty computer monitor.

A quick collection of some recent lunch time doodles, we just got a new lunch room with a nice big table, so far barely anyone besides the titan crew uses it, anyway here is my stuff, the bottom picture is a bit too long, i didn't PS it right.
and be sure to check out class of the titans when the new season comes out around summer, there is some cool stuff that's gonna happen.

One more drawing of my "peter parker" probably doesn't look like him eh? the top one with ole dubya i found on someone else's blog, i thought it was damn funny, probably one more thing he'll end up saying sometime soon.

and lastly i found this picture of aang from avatar on their website, great great show, i had my doubts when nick showed us the demo last year, i mean c'mon a kid with an arrow on his head? but i started to watch it and its a great show, it takes some of the best elements of an anime style show and combines it with a north american twist, and its interesting enough to keep your attention, the characters develop over the season and it picks up in season 2 and ends with a cliffhanger, so i can't wait for season 3 book 3:fire

100th post!

wow, its been 100 posts since i first started this blog way back in oct.05 i mostly started one because one of my teachers from school had one, and even since that day i started there's been some good posts and some bad ones, but live and learn.

anyway the second drawing at the top is probably what i'll look like after a few months after working on class of the titans season 2, if you want to see some of what's gonna happen in that show, check out brad's corner ( in my links section) he's the director of the show over at studio B and seems like a cool guy, He's been mentioned a few times on john nervarez' blog as well.

anyone a fan of that show? i hate their hair.
